To be honest, I started trying to think of ways to do so as soon as the folks I was talking to reacted to my statement. I pretty much figured that at least a few of my friends would have the same reaction when they read it. :-)

It's not like that. I finally managed to rid our shelves of that unused small appliance without my Best Beloved noticing. I put something more useful in its place.
But it's true. You can't fake a waffle iron. What will I say if he does notice? Okay. Got it. And not far off the truth. It just caused me a moment of panic. Anyone out there for a microwave egg poacher? Please?
