I can go an entire Pennsic with no mosquito bites, stop at Yaroslava's for five minutes, and I need a transfusion.
Some of these mutant skeets like DEET.
And be afraid -- once you have malaria, you always have it? And some of the folks at Fort Howard, which is now a VA long term nursing hospital, have it. Fortunately, the skeets don't fly more than a quarter mile in their lifetimes.
On the other hand, a skeet there could bite a visitor, and then the visitor could be bitten again when he got home. Making humans the primary vector, not the skeets.
