Something just blew up. While it was frying. Fortunately I had just moved away from the stove to get something else when it popped, splashing hot oil on the underside of the shelf over the stove, and on the floor.

Funny; nothing in the put looked exploded. Hmm. But I guess the result of this experiment is, "maybe this is a thing that doesn't want to be fried".

In other news, Perrine is just Way Too Cute.

All it takes is to have a pocket of water squeeze its way out of the food at the bottom of a pot of hot oil to produce that kind of eruption (or, if the food was frozen at any point, a rogue ice crystal will have the same effect). Flashes into steam at the bottom of the pot... you know the rest :(

How'd the kitty react to the "fire drill"? :)

(endearment omitted), I shall never be happy enough that you two found one another. And you're quite right.

Sorrowful about the *POP*. Oil is always iffy. Try rubbing alcohol, but acetone may be more efficient. Depends on surface. What were you cooking?
