Your stew sounds... interesting, it contains quite a few things that I just can't eat actually, it is mostly things I am allergic to or have bad reactions to... wow! (I can't have nightshades, and I am allergic to carrots) But If you want to thicken the broth, add a tablespoon or two of flour or cornstarch (mix it with a little water first, it wont get lumpy that way)
And if you don't have margerine tubs, ziplock style freezer bags work. Or even the type of bags that have twisty ties, just stand them up in a bowl or pan in the freezer until they are frozen solid. (I would double bag them.)
