"I was concerned when the assistant principal called and told me my son had said a word so bad that he didn't want to repeat it over the phone. But that was nothing compared to the shock I felt when my little boy came home and told me that his teacher had told him his family is a dirty word." -- Sharon Huff, whose seven year old son was punished at school for using the word "gay" while explaining to a classmate why he had two mothers. Y'know, sometimes I'm glad that I live in Canada now.

But then I look at the Washington Post story, and at the picture of the family in question, and my first thought is "but why did they have to be two moms who look like stereotypical dykes?"

So I guess I'm a bigot after all.
