Nope, there won't be any improvement on the weapons of mass destruction front. And it's going to be too much of a PR matter; much more than it should have been. Still, a war-crimes court probably awaits him. And on the other hand, this won't slow down Iraqi guerillas or other terrorists who identify with them (or find it expedient to do so) at all; unless this is handled very carefully they'll make Saddam a martyr.

He doesn't have that much claim to martyrdom, he doesn't stand for much... the islamic fundamentalists don't like him because he was secular - didn't hold the citizens to strict Islamic law, women could dress Western... heck his foreign minister was Christian. He wasn't even a political visionary... just a crude, Mafia style dictator. The only thing he stands for is defying America.
