Sometime last night or this morning I dreamt quite vividly that I had gone downstairs for a snack, intended to break off a corner of the brick of Cheddar in the fridge, and wound up eating nearly all of the cheese I had. Later I woke hungry, and was confused to find all the cheese still there.

Not doing well today. Sleeping in two and three hour chunks. This evening I was unable to figure out whether I was more hungry or more sleepy -- crashed for half an hour and sortakinda woke up, just enough to notice a hungry cat looming. (She actually perched on my hip for a little while.) I asked her to drag some food upstairs from the kitchen for me, but she didn't seem to understand. Probably because I was mumbling. It took me another half hour to wake up enough to pull myself out of bed so I could feed Perrine and myself.

I had a small but important to-do list for today. I didn't do any of it yet.

I've been thinking about yesterday, trying to figure out whether I pushed myself too hard and caused this flare, or just had it land on me randomly. I didn't think I was pushing that hard at the time...

Better than dreaming you ate a giant marshmallow and woke to find your pillow gone.

Half gone is worse. If it is gone, maybe you just had a bout of sleepwalking and took it elsewhere.

Sort of on the line that the only thing worse than finding a worm in your apple is finding half a worm.

Interesting dream. I'm in a "don't remember what I dream about" phase again; that alternates with phases of remembering almost every dream.

Reminds me. Did you ever study lucid dreaming?

I haven't really studied it, but I'm familiar with the concept. I did try to get to a lucid dreaming state for a while many years ago, but have only found myself there randomly and not very often (and I've had the awareness that I'm dreaming, but not been able to exercise very much control over the dream as I'd like on those rare occasions when it happens at all). So obviously there's more to it than the sound-bite descriptions make it sound like.
