The grey boxes took me longer to figure out than they should have:

Hmm. Maybe "find in page" can be used to skip ahead to the next entry in one's friends page without scrolling down a screen at a time?

I don't see your grey boxes with either Safari or Netscape. (I do see the background-color code when I view the source.)
