I spent most of Sunday trying to pretend I didn't need downtime to recover from Pirate Feast on Saturday, and failing. I did watch -- and enjoy -- the Super Bowl. I never pay attention to the halftime show, so I missed the OH MY GOD A FEW SQUARE INCHES OF SKIN ON HER DARE WE SPEAK THE WORD BREAST GOT EXPOSED AND THE WORLD IS ENDING moment until it was pointed out in friends' journals later. Yeah yeah whatever whatever. Cute piercing jewelry though.

Monday I got up really late (as evidenced by the timestamp on my Groundhog Day entry), feeling better but still a long way from all here. My phone was next to me on the bed, and I picked it up to take with me when I got up. A few hours later I realized I had no clue what room I'd left it in, and it's not in any of the usual obvious places. In another six hours or so it'll start beeping to remind me about street-cleaning hours (the freezing precipitation on its way here will keep the street cleaner away, but as I've mentioned before, it might not keep the ticket-writer at bay) so unless I dropped it someplace where it's terribly muffled, I should be able to find it then. (I'll have to walk around the house listening -- it's not very loud. I keep the ringer on maximum volume except when it needs to be completely silent, and I often can't hear it from one or two rooms away.)

So I know aproximately when I'll find it, but if anybody called me earlier, I didn't hear the ring.

My sleep schedule is off again. I'm about to crash now. At some point I should write about Pirate Feast, how good it was to see people I see too seldom, how impressive [livejournal.com profile] silmaril's sight-reading is, how [livejournal.com profile] anniemal and I performing in two different groups limited the time we could hang out, how the food was good as usual ... or I can let this paragraph count as a lame-ass event report.

At least today people in the media are admitting it was a piercing and not a "pastie". having a pastie might lead you to believe that it was no accident, but a nipple piercing might have been.

- I heard it on my radio station as I was waking up. They were describing what a "nipple shield" was.

I think that if my breasts cost as much as Janet Jackson's did, I'd display them as often as possible!

[livejournal.com profile] silmaril loves playing with HCB, simply because it is so good exercise for her sightreading. You've changed the program enough that I couldn't just relax, mostly.

If you're making it to rehearsal tonight, can you bring the sheetmusic for your song and Mike's waltz? I asked permission from Mike to see your copy of it.
