I have both private and employer-provided cell phones, and a landline. If I'm home I have always the opportunity to phone from one of the remaining units to the lost one.

Of course, there have been times when the misplaced unit has been on "quiet" or even "silent" setting.

A friend of ours would put her keys on her pager this way if she lost her keys she could find them by calling them.
