yeah, but that model doesn't work for a sports event or awards show, particularly one where the results will be unavoidable in the aftermath. When you know who's going to win, because its already happened, the thrill is gone. its one of the reasons the reality shows will never be syndicated unless some "The Reality Channel" comes along to play nothing but reality shows and COPS reruns.

(yes, there are some exceptions that survive in reruns, like Animal Planet's King of the Jungle, and TLC and HGTV's shows, because there's always the design and learning angle that you can learn from, regardless of the "reality" factor.)

That's really an appalling thought -- a channel of nothing but reality TV. Worse, I think it would succeed. They just need a few years to build up some stock. Ick. (Then again, this is the opinion of someone who has never watched an episode of any of those shows....)
