This one started off doing something similar, but less extreme, and in that "lots of things are still new and scary but my job is to figure out which ones to get used to" way that you'd expect of a 6-month kitten.
I have one of those! She's 17 and spent alot of time as a young one in one room of my apt (I was in college at the time.). The few times she's managed to get out of the house, she's looked around, hissed and run as fast as possible under something.
Currently, she lives under my bed, only coming out when someone (usually me) is lying on the bed. Then she sleeps on my pillow. :-)
Re: one more little kitty story
I can picture an agoraphobic adult cat.
