I tried this before two or three times and it didn't work. So I gave up for a few months, but a recent conversation on Elbows got me to try again, and this time it seems to have worked:
I've created a syndicated feed for my friend Interrobang's
Slashdot
journal and named the feed
rss_interrobang.
So now I'll notice more quickly when she posts something in
her own journal, and if any of my LJ friends who've noticed
her comments in my journal (anonymous in the LJ sense since
she doesn't have her own LJ account (hint hint) but often
signed with "?!") or my references to her journal and are
interested, they can be see that she's posted too.
Unfortunately the RSS feed is only showing the subject, first couple of lines, and URL of her journal entries, not entire posts. I guess this is a configuration detail on the Slashdot end of things, not something I got wrong on the LiveJournal end? Or is there a way for me to tweak that?
(no subject)
So...
Thanks for boosting my readership, though. If I had a LJ acc't, I could syndicate myself!
