I think it's good to have icons that represent one's moods - not just good, but upset, sad, pondering.. And many people do use their journals to whine. Whining is more universally accepted than bragging that things are going well. People would supposedly rather share in one's misery than share in one's joy, as that brings envy.. ?? I would rather see more happiness and share in my friends' joy.
