However, I'm perfectly at home with certain features of summer. The thrum of gentle rain on the lake, or the torrent of a thunderstorm, they have their appeal. While I do love it when nature goes dramatic, I also appreciate the gentle bits.

But spring is just such panic.

And while Finland is colatitudinal with Alaska, the circulation of oceans makes our climate more reminiscent of temperate latitudes. Of course, anything over +25 °C is officially termed "extremely warm" by the Finnish Meteorological Bureau.

I didn't include summer in my statement. Spring is a hullabaloo. If you were here to see everything thrusting itself heavenward despite the cold, raw days we've had more than enough of, and how fast the flora got going when we had two pleasant ones, and hear the birds are singing ere dawn, and see how they're chasing one another about... I'd probably have to draw the blinds close and fetch a cold compress.

I like it.
