You could do both... There's no real conflict between cursing because there's a mouse in your bed and praising the kitty for catching mice. Just be sure to stagger the two events! :)
Personally, if Nero dropped a mouse in my bed, I'd have a fit. Fortunately (or not), he's the world's worst hunter.
