Explosion Clues??

Hmm. I just heard a helicopter go past, and sirens, but they're distant. I went upstairs to have another look, and the helicopter is circling far south of here, far enough to be an almost-helicopter-shaped speck in the haze. Maybe whatever went kaboom was actually outside the beltway? (Or, of course, perhaps the sirens and helicopter are unrelated to what I heard.) I guess I'll watch the 4:00 news and see whether they say anything about an explosion.

I never found out what happened. Something came up that took me away from the television for a while, so it's possible that it was mentioned while I was out of the room. There were two automobile accidents in roughly the right direction, but I don't think either involved an explosion. There was helicopter video of a tanker truck that had flipped over, but it was intact.

When I left the house to go to rehearsal, BGE had trucks at both corners of my block, and was feeding massively thick cable into the ground on the other side of Fulton Ave. They were still at it when I came home. I don't know whether that's related in any way either.
