Something small and light coloured flew away before I could get a good luck -- I'm thinking pigeon. Something smaller and dark (too small for a crow) was still pecking at the trash when I got to the door. And there were crows on the rooftop across the intersection. (I'm not sure how good feline distance vision is, but Perrine did appear to be watching the crows once the closer birds had gone.)
I don't know whether anyone has ever noticed, but for the past several years I've made a habit of spelling out the word 'television' instead of abbreviating it 'TV'. And yeah, when it's not to avoid ambiguity, it's to head off lame puns. (Some clever puns get shut out as well, as a side effect. *shrug*)
