A bit of news concerning democracy

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] siderea for pointing out this link: "California Secretary of State Kevin Shelley ended five months of speculation and announced Friday that he was decertifying all electronic touch-screen voting machines in the state due to security concerns and lack of voter confidence. He also said that he was passing along evidence to the state's attorney general to bring criminal and civil charges against voting-machine-maker Diebold Election Systems for fraud." [emphasis added]

A research group in Texas cloned a cat about two years ago. My icon is the clone's widely-released publicity photo.

I heard about this and the protest held outside of Diebold's headquarters in Ohio during a meeting of the CEO with the Board of Directors.

And I thought Maryland was investigating this still.
