Update to last night's peeve: They did turn out to be (so far) UFOs. So a more accurate (and interesting) teaser would have been, "Mexican Air Force Chases UFOs". Using, "Are these UFOs?" made me expect a story about temporary confusion that turned out to be weather balloons.

But I guess the term "UFO" is so often misused that they feared their viewers would think they meant the flying objects had been identified as spaceships...

And for the folks glad to know they're not the only ones annoyed by this, that's exactly how I feel reading your comments saying that. Ah, validation.
