The reason I dig P&TL so much isn't so much for what he says or the root causes he's observing (which are a lot more applicable to the UK, or even the world, of 1946 than today), but basically for the phenomenology. I mean, in many cases, we really are being overrun by dead metaphors and hyperinflated rhetoric.
