Non-Christian viewpoints are certainly significant to me; the quote is specifically Christian, but the whole question of good-and-evil is not.

Hmm!

So even without intent, an action which by its nature cannot be corrected, can be evil?

Certainly. People can do evil things by accident, or while intending good results. And the bit about "by its nature cannot be corrected" -- that's why I'm against the death penalty. It's possible to bring someone out of prison, apologize, and try to redress a wrongful punishment -- but if you've killed them, there's no
way to take that back.
