Certainly. People can do evil things by accident, or while intending good results. And the bit about "by its nature cannot be corrected" -- that's why I'm against the death penalty. It's possible to bring someone out of prison, apologize, and try to redress a wrongful punishment -- but if you've killed them, there's no way to take that back.
