i might be misremembering, that's exactly what i always thought happened in the garden of eden, and i'm pretty sure it's what i learned in hebrew school as well. actually, i'm kind of curious what people who DON'T think that's what the sin was think the sin was (gosh that's an awful sentence).

i might ask more jews about this, since otherdeb and i seem to think "well, duh" when we hear this hypothesis :)
