That paragraph of parentheticism had me in tickles from the second set of parentheses. And given the programming background, the final note on popping the stack definitely cracked me up.

I should really have said "unwind the stack" since it was multiple levels, but I figured "pop" would get a more immediate response.

I really do think in nested parentheses, more so when I'm tired. Usually I make an effort not to overdo it in my writing. Often I fail.

Hmm. I'm going to be thinking about VAX stack frames all afternoon, I just know it.
