All sounds terribly familiar. I've tended to call myself "rational libertarian", but I wind up in very much the same places as Todd.
Frankly, there's a part of me that sincerely believes that there's a serious political third party waiting to break out here; I've been of that opinion for at least eight or nine years now. The problem is, starting a *real* third party (as opposed to some billionaire's platform to get elected President) is very hard, especially since the system is pretty well stacked against it. I have ideas about how it might be done, but it's all terribly hypothetical...
