It sometimes seems to me that this time of year the spirits of the departed ARE closer than other times. Just because celtic people noticed this and celebrated it in their own culture, it doesn't mean that for me to acknowledge the same thing makes me pagan. If we believe in saints and that our beloved dead are in heaven and aware of us on earth, why not more at some times than others?

My grandfather rules my heart and mind in many ways, but his day is 19 Dec. To some extent, he's always there. He was a radical. Of a quiet sort.
