To (probably mostly correctly) quote Spider Robinson:

"If the average person is walking through the woods when a UFO lands in front of him and aliens start to exit the craft and walk up to him, he will probably start going through a mental checklist, 'Am I asleep? Am I drunk? Am I dreaming? Did I forget to eat?'.

Fen will do the exact same thing.

The difference is the fan will be hoping that all of the answers are 'no'."
