Sleep cycle still scrozzled. *sigh*

At some point this morning I was awakened because a bird appeared in the grape vine outside the bedroom window, and Perrine, who had been resting on my legs, teleported noisily to the center of the window. (She can balance on the top edge of the lower sash if she lands there cleanly, but it's a far and tricky jump from the bed; the first three times she did it today, she wound up hanging by her front paws, but she later did wind up perched.)

When she moved to hide behind me to lurk and stare at the birds, I rolled over and got to look at her hunting face from the front, and dammit, she's a heart-meltingly adorable little killing machine.

I've been missing birthdays a lot lately (often because by the time I'm awake enough to remember to mention them, they're about over -- see first line of this entry), but hey, there's still time to wish [livejournal.com profile] keith_m043 a happy birthday...

I reset my birthday last month so a lot of people wouldn't detect my birthday with those cheezy little javascripts I see being used. You remembered without such aids. :) Not that I'm philosophically opposed to the observation of birthdays, but a)I tend to be shy n reclusive and b)the javascripts remind me of a job I had where they'd use personel records to compile birthday lists for each month and I view that as an invasion of privacy when done by an employer.

Sneaky! Happy birthday anyway.

Thank you. I am 42 now and I suppose I should have had a Douglas Adams themed pahty. Ah well maybe next life.

I've got similar aids. (Calendar, DayRunner, PDA, the calendar file in my home directory...) I just don't have them automagically posting for me, and they're not data-mining. (Though once in a while I've used 'at' to write a birthday greeting a day or two ahead of time and have it mailed on the right day.)
