I agree that it is doubtful that malice is the root of anti-sexual activism. The roots of the dirtiness of sexuality stretch back at least as far as St. Augustine for Christians. Many of the Jewish sexuality laws are about enhancing the chances of conception. It is the combination of dirtiness and guilt that seems to make sexuality such a sensitive subject with many people. Re-education doesn't work because it is almost impossible to change emotions and thought processes which are rooted in early-childhood emotional turmoil through adult analytical thought.
