Why did you feel the need to truncate this (so severely)? Just curious, as ISTM this falls under "illustrations of 'Dance as if no one is watching. Sing as if no one is listening. Love as if you have never been hurt.' " (such illustrations being Very Good Things indeed)
I don't remember why I trimmed it so tight, but looking at it I think it was because a) I saw a shorter message within the longer one and thought the shorter message made a nice bumper sticker, and b) I think I'd already added other "dance as if no one is watching" quotes to the queue around then.
But you're right -- looking at the source again, I see several different ways I could've selected which chunk to quote, including just using the sentence that this fragment is from.
