Stopped taking the MyoCalm PM. Sleep issues and resulting difficulties getting where I needed to go or concentrating got to be too much. It did help my legs -- leg cramps only woke me once during this experiment and made me uncomfortable while falling asleep one or two times besides that. Now I'm waiting to see how long it takes for my sleep patterns to go back to their usual already-bad-enough state, with insomnia being random instead of every other day. (It's not just the pattern; staying awake on valerian felt different from past insomnia.

I finally got caught up on rading my LJ friends list sometime, uh, Thursday morning, but I haven't peeked at anyone's journal since Thursday night and haven't read back on my friends-page since earlier that day. I'm also behind on email, but I'm working on that.

So now I'm looking at the differences between abc2ps and abcmtps (I want a couple of abc syntax features proposed after the most recent version of abc2ps I can find), until I get sleepy again. And trying not to wake up Perrine when I shift position -- she's sleeping on me again.

You know, leg cramps are often a sign of potassium deficiency. Try eating a banana a day and see if it helps, It helped my mother's leg cramps quite a bit. Or taking supplements with potassium in them.

Experimentation has shown magnesium to be more significant than potassium for me, but I do try to keep bananas in the house anyhow. (When I've got 'em, I eat one a day; but I don't make it to the grocery store as often as I should, so I frequently run out.)
