After being told "We have a policy that we are not being hacked." when he tried to report a security problem to Friendster, Jason Kottke wrote:

*hoot hoot hoot* A company that sends out stuff like that to its customer base has given the marketroids entirely too much power.

I think I should develop a policy for becoming fabulously successful and wealthy. :D

It sounds to me as if the support person was saying that in frustration and irony, not that they're supposed to tell people they have that "policy."

I have a policy of vast influence yet negligible responsibility. I don't even need wealth, as I have a policy of people giving me lots of highly desirable presents. I have a policy of ideal health and relationships without effort or commitment.

And I thought personal affirmations were scary.....
