Distracted ... real entry uh (hold on) (where was I?) (oh yeah) real entry later. Just wanted to toss out a couple of words that caught my attention:
"Approximeeting" (from an article about the changes wrought by cell phones) -- "This has many implications, but the most common one, and perhaps the thing that has changed British culture for ever, is that of approximeeting. People no longer need to make firm plans about when and where to meet. Twenty years ago, a Friday night would need to be arranged in enough time to allow everyone to get from their place of work to the first meeting place. Now, however, a night out can be rearranged on the fly. It is no longer 'see you here at eight', but 'text me around eight and we'll see where we all are'."
"Recrudesce" (from an article about disturbing political trends and the fact that there seems to be more discussion of them lately) -- "My point at the time was fascism's not just a phenomenon unique to 1930s and 40s and defeated in 1945 but something that can recrudesce. One should be alert for warning signs.", which www.m-w.com defines,
Etymology: Latin recrudescere to become raw again, from re- + crudescere to become raw, from crudus raw -- more at RAW
: to break out or become active again
