I find it interesting to see the comments connecting homosocial and "stereotypically girly", which is not a connection I'd really thought about until today. I wonder how/whether that ties in with siderea's comment below about INTJ women, and the relationship between IQ and androgynous behaviour.
I think that the "stereotypically girly" comments come only from those who don't have a lot of experience with homosocial groups. I think that cchan8's comments about boundaries are more apt. I've talked to a number of women about what 'the girls' talk about and it tends to be: guys, interests (which depend on the people, and frequently aren't "girly"), work. When out with 'the boys' typical topics are: girls, interests, work. So seems the same to me.
