Interesting thread, that.
FWIW, when I tend to say, "I don't do restaurant math," I'm pretty sure it's an ingrained response to be more happy being told how much to pay than to risk confrontation by advancing my own opinion as to how the bill is being split. It's strange - I'm fine if alone, but if anyone else is around I'll usually check the split and tip with them.

I'm sure if I wanted to do long division I could, but I have so little use in my life for anything other than a little estimation of late...

OK LJ, eat it agaiin. Sorry. I've had about enough of this system eating what I write AND ONE WRONG KEYSTROKE AND IT'S GONE.

Don't feel bad about math. I got into deep doo-doo in3rd grade over the algorithm for long division. I'm good for restaurant in my head and sometimes carry a calculator. (seethe)

I have been looking for new people to read and [livejournal.com profile] the_radix reccommended you. Do you mind if a total stranger adds you?

Not if you don't mind my feeling flattered.

Seriously, if I minded, then most of my entries would be friends-only. (I'd have to go back and check, but I think I've only ever posted tow friends-locked entries.) There are already random strangers on my "friend-of" list, and a few net.friends who started off that way.

All of my posts are friends-locked due to a problem involving a person I know turning up a little too much personal information about me on-line without my permission (and then telling me about it, which was the really creepy part).

Thanks for letting me tag along.
