"Be who YOU are and say what YOU feel, because those
who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."
-- Theodor S. Geisel, a.k.a. Dr. Seuss (with
thanks to matthew_g, from whom I got it.)
This has been a basic version of my life tempered by the odd kowtow to appearances or my own sense of fair play, from time to time. As S_C says when I fret over hair or clothes or what to say:"Who do you need to impress there? The credit card works." I'm working at understanding it all.
"Oh my oh me, oh me oh my, what a lot of funny things go by. From there to here, and here to there, funny things are everywhere." I'll show you my "One fish, two fish, red fish blue fish" boxer shorts if you ask nicely. Or maybe I already have. No pockets, but airy in summer.
"Look what we found in the park in the dark." seems so much more dangerous now.
Very, very true. I have to remind myself of this quite often, as while I am a very honest and open person about my thoughts and feelings, I realize that voicing them usually causes problems and angers a lot of people. And I do hate getting people up in arms like that and I hate fighting, but you know.. why should I sacrifice my right to be heard, just because a few people want to be immature about it?
Real friends won't dislike you because of things like that, anyway. So if someone does, I guess they were never my real friend to begin with.
Yeah. The bad refrigerator repair company got a fat earful of my thoughts and feelings and didn't like it and I didn't care. They were probably relieved to be relieved of their duties, which looked ever more to include screwing me over. That was this week. Next, I'll find something else to say something about. Or lay low. I get tired of fighting, too. But you gotta do it or just flop over to bad guys who want to take advantage of your trust.
Even when you love the person and they're not trying to take advantage of you, it's often hard to say what you need to and easier to put a sock in it.

It's nice to know that St Seuss is one of my allies.

Actually, his wife, but I can't come up with her name and it is too close to my bedtime for me to go hunting it up.
