I always viewed sex as being more linguistic for having to do with how you relate to someone else. Math seems so coldly logical to me, far away from the realm of emotions I find in literature, language, and culture.

I guess I'm just not able to see it that way since I don't have a mathematical mind.

To me, logic isn't cold, and math encompasses things like this.

What, you mean that every time I'm banging away like a bunny rabbit its actually a repression of my deep seated desire to work on quadratic equations?!

I somehow think not! lol

Geometry, "simple harmonic motion" (yeah, physics concept but a pretty mathematical one), relationships ... oh, there's math there, it's just that it's neither formal math nor calculations. ;-) Intuitive math can be fun too.

(twas only 7 symbols long, but will write it out since I lack the proper keys)

The integral of (2.718281828...) to the xth power is equal to the function defined by u to the nth power

only an engineer ...

Oh, lovely! (But no, not just an engineer. This computer geek promptly e-mailed the quote to her favorite mathematician, and is giggling at the t-shirt and Wants One.)

I don't have a mathematics urge, sublimated or not. My sex drive, well, I leave that as an exercise for the reader (and the author, and however many of the author's closest friends...).
