But really, we hide our motivations from ourselves a frightening amount of time. We all like to think we're rational, but look under the hood of the most logical person and you'll find a running, hairy animal, quaking in terror and flooded with pheromones. Truth is, we may know ourselves better than anyone else, but that doesn't mean we know us well. We're very good at tricking ourselves. Frighteningly good.

I'm trying to figure this out. I've always been a grabby, greedy, only behaving mostly sort. I've never fooled myself into denying it. I've just fooled the rest of the world. It's an act I can't be proud of, but it makes my behaviour more acceptable.

But I know my nature. If I didn't deny it the world around me would be in danger. Anyone want me to quit? I didn't think so. I was a bomb by 2nd grade.

I know my motivations well. There's a house I haven't burned down. I'm a B_F saint on that one.

So we go on, appearing what passes for normal? Fortunately love is my nature, mostly.

I own up to who I am. I wouldn't measure up to D'G even with pajamas otherwise. She is just wonderful, and you have to take her where she gets. But yes she's a wonder. (I smile at my luck and privilege.) Pretending else would be unbecoming, no? Say I'm Easy.

I'm hoping En_ki got hot home alright.
