Okay, I can think of a handful of people on my friends list who really need to seee the Ringflute (a circular flute, simple-system, seven holes), so I'm not waiting until I have time to assemble a link-sausage entry to share this link.

Running late, but will be out the door shortly. Did not get enough sleep.

why did they have to bend it around in that direction?
To play it naturally, I'd have to cross my hands and have
my left hand inside the flute.

This brings up an interesting question. Do most pennywhistle
players use the left or right hand for the one closest to the mouth?

No clue on whistle players but I play the recorder and have my left hand uppermost, so would do the same with a whistle if I ever got round ot playing the dratting thing.

AIIGG!! Sweet Euterpe, they've come up with a way to make the flute even LESS ergonomic! Who would have thought that possible.

I think left. At least I go that way. Someone left-handed might use the right for the near fingering. Need a larger sample size.

i wish it said on the website what material it was from.
it would be worth buying if metal, but if plastic... eh.
(i couldn't find the information anywhere on the site, though i assume i could email and ask...)

If anyone else has refused to let the later media player versions (with ~digitial rights theft, er - mangement~ controls built-in) onto their machines, here is the direct link to the sound sample file:

http://www.ringflute.com/sounds/ringflute_sample.mp3

It reminds me of an ~expert playing of a Flutophone (those plastic thingys they used to try to make us play in grade school). The ABS is definitely Not helping the sound quality, IMHO! Since I can't play a regular flute either, I'm not in a position to say if its better or worse. But you would think it Could at least sell in the same market niche as the Flutophone once the price comes down into the commodity range.

On the other paw, it does Look Really Neat! ;-)
