I've got a huge backlog of saved URLs to post (and have lost a bunch more that I never got around to) ... here's one batch.
- A politically charged eBay auction, the latest in the growing tradition of eBay humour, this one both scathing and educational.
- Another political item, admittedly a bit stale, regarding the administration's pleasure at the high voter turnout in that place we fought to bring democracy to, and what it means for the success of that particular mission. You'll have to scroll down about halfway.
- Our government's curious math for converting units -- how 199 g == 91 lbs -- yeah, political again.
- And one last political one: Psalm for the New World Order"
- Scary math (in the, "well at least that explains it..." sense): Why Your Pointy Haired Boss Is A Mathematical Certainty
- More scientific stuff: 13 things that don't make sense
- Potentially useful: An American-British / British-American dictionary
- Interesting tech: Nose As Mouse -- looks like it could be nice, should be less cumbersome than the failed "head mouse" (especially since it doesn't require wearing a device), but might suffer some of the same problems ... I'd want to try it before deciding how useful it looks.
- An instructive one for folks who haven't quite gotten the knack yet: How To Eat Puzzy
- Scarycute: a haxxor breakfast cereal
- Just plain pretty: Chinese watermelon sculpture. If you're thinking sortakinda like pumpkin carving with more colours, you're on the right track. Some of these are rather striking.
- If you liked the Cats vs. Roomba story I linked to last week, you will probably also get a chuckle out of this similar (but shorter) one. Again, put down drinks first...
- And finally, an amusing, gory bio-lab story -- "There truly was a good explanation for the kid's backyard swing set, the garbage cans filled with blood, and the chanting half-naked guy with the canoe paddle..." Have fun with the mental images for the rest of the day. :->
