An observation: The laws of physics are less forgiving than God is.

A corollary: Tailgaters need to be reminded of this.

She established the laws of physics. Who says they're not representative of her personality (at least, in part)?

Or perhaps they were established to show how bad things would be if she *were* as strict and unforgiving as they. Hmm. :)

There's a reason there's a distinction between justice and mercy. God may show mercy; physics, based on laws, only knows justice.

I was hoping someone would bring in the justice/mercy phrasing after I decided to leave it out of the entry itself. Thank you.

I want a bumpersticker for my back bumper that says "I Brake for Tailgaters".

Unfortunately, I also want one for the front that says "Move or Be Pushed" in backwards ambulance lettering.

Heh, I'm reminded somewhat of this E2 node on the subject!

(NB: The last write-up in that node is probably the most important one, sadly)

An entry some years ago in the Nashville Scene's annual You are so Nashville if... contest: You are so Nashville if you have a bumper sticker reading "God is my copilot" instead of taking driving lessons. (The link is to a later version of the contest. Still fun to read.)

The laws of physics don't forgive, and neither do the police, generally. Get a license number? I'd advise you to do the merciful thing and register a complaint if possible, to get the dangerous asshole off the road before s/he winds up killing someone.

If I could read their plates, it wouldn't be as big a problem :/

Actually, the police a) pretty much won't do squat in response to something they didn't observe themselves (except for sending someone to keep an eye out for a reported drunk driver) unless it results in a collision, and b) don't seem to give a damn stopping tailgating. (They'll use it as an excuse for a nuisance stop, and they'll tack it onto whatever other charges after an accident, but they won't pull anyone over for it. *grrrrrr*)
