Do dogs' tail-wagging muscles ever get tired?

I just had this mental image of a dog going, "Oh! Ow! Tail cramp!"

Or a dog telling another dog, "I was so happy when they got home that I smiled until my tail hurt."

I don't know, but several years ago my beagle-mix (Crumby, short for Crumbcake) appeared to have "broken her wagger." That is, for a while, it looked like it hurt her to wag. Not sure if that was from over-wagging at some doggie-joke or what, but she eventually recovered, with no loss of wagging function.

that is so painfully funny! What an image. Poor things if it's true!

Dogs spend more than half their time asleep. I suspect they refresh/regenerate any over stressed muscles during that time.

Everybody's talking about animals! Over at my journal, we've segued from hedgehogs to swallows, and here you are talking about dogs. (Oh! My dad said the other day, "If you see a Newfie puppy, let me know..."!)

I suppose I ought to throw in some sort of reference to my horse, just to make things even. ;)

it's such a great picture. I loved that.

I'll bet they don't get tired. I can shake my leg all day. Too bad it isn't because I am happy.

I've noticed Lady starts wagging her tail less as she goes on. I presume it's because her "wagging" muscles get tired.
