There was a dream, mostly forgotten by now, that had something to do with a large silver fish with black spots on it. I think the fish was stalking me and [livejournal.com profile] anniemal because it wanted to eat [livejournal.com profile] anniemal. I don't remember whether [livejournal.com profile] syntonic_comma was in peril or not. I might be mixing up two dreams, but in at least one dream something was chasing us and in at least one dream there was a silver fish with black spots. I think [livejournal.com profile] anniemal killed the fish, cooked it, and ate it, which seemed fitting turnabout. But that wasn't the dream that was worth blogging.

I next dreamt that I woke up and blogged the first dream.

Then, half an hour or an hour later, I half-woke, fell back asleep, and dreamt that I had logged in to check whether the dream about posting the first dream here had been a dream or not.

That was the more vivid dream remembered when I woke for real.

Back when I used to play Tetris a lot (and later a 3-D game with the same theme), I used to dream of falling blocks that I had to nudge into place. For a while many years ago, I dreamt of Othello boards. My freshman year of college I occasionally had dreams filled with lines of ForTran that I had to rearrange.

But the last time I remember being chased by seafood was the recurring nightmare in my childhood about being chased around a decaying castle by a half-eaten giant crab.

BlockOut! You used to play BlockOut! That's one of the first computer games I played on a PC, as opposed to a Commodore.

And yes, that's definitely a dream-inducing game.

Actually, I think the one I played was called something like "Frack".

Um...maybe you should back down on the pain killers a bit man.

God you have the weirdest dreams.

That was just on Ultram and ibuprofen ...

(Then again, opiates interfere with one stage of sleep (I forget which), so maybe it makes sense that the interesting dreams came on a night when I didn't need Vicodin.)

I've told dyou about the recurring spaceship dream in high school, haven't I?

Interesting you should say that, roguelike games crop up in my dreams relatively often. Not very often, but enough to notice anyway. IIRC there was some other game or similar that featured in one of my dreams quite long ago too, but I don't remember what... possibly it was Chaos? I used to be fairly fanatical about that.

Don't think I've had bad dreams about seafood, perhaps that's because I like it too much :)
