Better yet, it's time that actually pays itself back in the end. Spend more time studying the specs, turn out a better project in the end. Write a better memo, cut down on required clarifications, interdepartmental phone calls, and organisational confusion (not to mention that neutrally-written memos ease political friction, and biased memos inflame it). Write better documentation, save yourself technical support contacts, improve your product's reputation (and possibly market share), and make your users happier.

Not that I'm, er, partisan or anything...
