Damn you, Joss!

But oh my, what a ride.

My brain feels ... after-Thanksgiving-dinner full, there are so many ideas and revelations and moments to digest.

Serenity.

Which you should see, too. I don't know you, but you should see it. *nod*

Some people went to it and had an initial hate reaction that turns into liking it and wanting to see it again. I had an initial rush of emotional attachment that over several days has turned into, 'Yeah, but it also had honking big flaws. And some of the worldbuilding he never mentioned in the show is STUPID. Also? ...', and I want to see it again.

I went to see it Sunday night. On the edge of my seat, getting to near the end, the desperate stand-off with the Reavers, and Mal up against the Operative... and the lamp in the projector blows out. The movie continues for another two minutes, sound only -- groans, gasps, gunfire, not knowing who's alive and who's not.... Lights come back on.

Theater manager announces what the problem is, and that he can't fix it. He starts handing out little red "free showing" tickets for us to come back another time....

I had to wait another twenty-four hours to find out how the damn thing ENDED, last night.

But BOY OH BOY what a ride. The second time through, I picked up a lot of the little clues dropped earlier. I knew then what had to happen at the end. I was right. But I was still on the edge of my seat most of the way.

And I want to see it again.
