Isn't that what Boing Boing is for?

Some people use wikipedia for that. (Start at known topic, follow semi-random links until something nifty is encountered).

Well, if there is one, wouldn't you like to hear about it?

(Thanks for quoting me, by the way; I love whenever anyone picks up anything I say.)

Isn't that what the StumbleUpon extension does for Firefox? I don't use Firefox, but the idea's nifty enough.

To add to everybody else's suggestions:

memepool.com is good for a steady flow of utterly random crap, and everything2.com is a bit like Wikipedia in that it's got entries on just about everything (hence the name) except it has pretty random things and is written and organised differently.

For various reasons, I think E2 works out that bit extra good for the wandering-from-entry-to-entry factor, to the extent that it can be a pretty huge timesink. Unfortunately it also tends to be slow and connections often time out. And you can't write stuff of your own without an account, but there you go.
