And if you want more context than the catchy bumper-sticker version above, here's his next paragraph: "People hate the truth, particularly when it conflicts with their world view. They know how things are, and even if it's a terrible inconvenience they don't want to be shaken up. It doesn't matter how fundamental a truth may be, or even how easily provable it is; if people don't want to see it, they won't, and eventually they'll kill people who keep annoying them."
