Merry Christmas to folks on the Julian Calendar! (I know that includes Russian Orthodox, at least.)

(If I've got it right, all Orthodox churches use the Julian calendar for determining the date of Easter, but for Christmas some use the Gregorian calendar and others use the Julian calendar ... have I got that right?)

And for folks who celebrate on the Gregorian calendar, we'll pretend that Christmas ran a little long this year so that we don't have to think of this weekend's various "12th Night" events as being late, eh?

Well, I know through a friend that the Bulgarian Orthodox don't do the Julian Christmas thing.

Greek Easter has always been on a Gregorian Sunday, to the best of my knowledge.

As it should be, considering that Julian Sundays are also Gregorian Sundays. It's just that the Orthodox churches use the Julian calendar for deciding which Sunday should be Easter Sunday.
