Okay, they're self-proclaimed parody quizzes, but I'm still much more amused at the juxtaposition of my results than anything in either (rather unimaginitive) quiz itself:

You Are 20% Republican You Are 20% Democrat
If you have anything in common with the Republican party, it's by sheer chance. You're a staunch liberal, and nothing is going to change that!
If you have anything in common with the Democrat party, it's by sheer chance. You're a staunch conservative, and nothing is going to change that!
How Republican Are You? How Democrat Are You?

So apparently according to stereotypes, I'm ... what, a staunchly conservative liberal, or a staunchly liberal conservative? Heh. (But I guess I can point to this the next time a right-winger dismisses me as "a typical liberal" for disagreeing with him, right?)

I'm surprised that you were the same for both parties, since mine were quite different from each other, and I'd have said that we agree on most political things.

You Are 8% Republican

You Are 60% Democrat

You aren't a full fledged Democrat yet, but it's likely the party that fits you best.
You probably consider yourself an independent Democrat. You usually support the party, but you also think for yourself!

I think it's that I rejected their framing in ways that 'broke' some of the questions (on both tests). You and I probably still agree when the issues are discussed conversationally, the apparent difference here being how we interpreted the questions. That's my guess anyhow.

I got the impression that the test author interpreted a "disagree" as agreement with the opposite position (and intended respondents to do so as well), instead of possibly meaning, "not as described," "not in the absolute terms as phrased," "I don't agree with either extreme," "not that but not the implied opposite either -- something else," or, "on this issue that's the wrong question."

Mine was 24% Republican, 16% Democrat. Since I claim to be a classic libertarian, that sounds about right.

You Are 40% Democrat

You're a bit Democrat, and probably more liberal than you realize.
If you're still voting Republican, maybe it's time that you stop.

Not too surprising, since I usually end up voting Democrat (mostly because the Libertarian candidates are usually lame - tho I vote for them when they're not)
