Yah, 'tis. Sometimes cramps; more often the "I'm about to cramp, really I am, so you can't fall asleep, here it comes, really" feeling all night; occasionally twitches and small spasms or the "I need to move" feeling; and sometimes all of the above. So it sortakinda sounds like restless legs syndrome (apparently not uncommon with fibromyalgia) and it sortakinda sounds like mere cramps (which I need to look up whether they often come with the fibro). The fact that taking 3g Ca + 500mg Mg + 400mg K every night helps (makes nights like last night less frequent but they still happen too often), suggests simple cramps. The twitches, the "can't stay in this position more than a minute", and the fibromyalgia connection suggest restless legs. One of my doctors seemed to lean towards the cramps diagnosis.
Opiates help sometimes, but a) aren't great for sleep (especially the ones I can currently get my hands on -- Canadian OTC meds w/caffeine), and b) really aren't something I want to wind up using that regularly.
I'll look for the Radiance Remedies tablets and give them a try.
The fact that adding calcium and potassium cuts down on them does make them sound like simple cramps. (I screwed up my food plan last week and ended up with leg cramps/charley horses in my leg while fencing in a tournament on Saturday. I "invented" some new actions that involved hopping backwards on one foot while trying to touch my opponent and avoid being touched by her. We earned some laughs from the other fencers...)
I'm with you, I prefer to use the least amount of possible habit-forming substances that I can...
